1968年生まれ。鎌倉生まれ葉山在住。
約30年間、ソニー株式会社にて車載オーディオやハンディーカムの開発から設計/生産までを担当し、その後グループ会社全体の共通部門にて設計技術の統括部長を務めると同時に社内教育のとりまとめなど人材育成にも従事。登録公報 21件、公開公報 39件の特許を出願。
ソニー株式会社を退職後、2024年7月1日より代表取締役社長に就任。芸術と工学の融合による新たな世界の創出をライフワークとしている。

Born in 1968 in the historic city of Kamakura and now residing in the picturesque town of Hayama, Toru Hama brings over 30 years of experience from Sony Corporation. At Sony, he specialized in the development, design, and production of cutting-edge in-car audio systems and Handycam devices. Rising through the ranks, Toru became the Chief Design Technology Officer, leading the entire group's design technology initiatives and nurturing talent through comprehensive internal education programs.
Throughout his career, Toru Hama has been an innovator with 21 registered patents and 39 published patents to his name. Following his distinguished tenure at Sony, he assumed the role of President and Representative Director on July 1, 2024.
